Black, brooding, rich and deep: this is a huge French red wine. Aromas of blackened berries and plums and charred toasty oak. Pair with a brontosaurus burger.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A gorgeous Chateauneuf-Du-Pape from the 2012 Vintage. Deep ruby colour, the nose is very expressive with dark cherry, dark berries, dried fruit, plum, charcoal, and spice. Full bodied, luscious, the palate shows layers and layers of rich dark berries, plum, and black tea. Great structure, this is a wine built for ageing and is drinking wonderfully now. Enjoy 2015-2030. Tasted April 2015. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

An elegant nose with dark red fruit, vanilla and slight touch of dried herbs. Repeated on multi-layered palate with a luscious dry, rich mouthfeel and a long rich finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A juicy nose indeed!. Deep ruby colour indicative of all the concentrated fruit in the glass. Dark cherry, baked strawberry, plum, baking spices, dried herbs. Full-bodied and smooth. Drinking nicely now but has potential for ageing. I would love to taste this wine in 10 and 15 years. Buy 3!! I would savour this CdP with finer cut of grilled red meat or roasted Prime Rib.
TAsted: May 2015
