Terrific lemon vibrancy and mouth-watering juiciness for food, especially salads and vegetarian dishes. Not too herbal, with a medium body weight. A stunningly great price for such taste and quality. This would also make a great aperitif.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: mild green curry with shrimp, herbed chicken breast with a green salad.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

This Loire Sauvignon Blanc from Domaine Chainier displays gooseberry, fresh cut grass and citrus on the nose and palate. A lovely mineralilty shines through on the palate. Everything is restrained in this wine, a welcome change of pace from some of its New Zealand counterparts. I'm 87 points on this wine, a lovely sipper with shellfish. (ottawawinejournal.com)
A jaw-dropping value, this wine took home the Grand Prix d’Excellence at Vinalies 2012. If you know a Sauvignon Blanc fan who’s fond of New Zealand’s work and wants to expand their horizons, look no further – this wine serves up complexity and subtlety at a very approachable price. With fresh garden herbs, green apple, asparagus and steely mineral character, it’s crisp, vivacious and a joy to drink. Lovely as a sipper. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Dec. 2012
