Ultra-smooth and elegant with great restraint... The mannered side of Bordeaux. Aromas of blackberry and smoke, not overly fruity, more earthy. Medium- to full-bodied. Perfect for dinner parties.

Food pairings: prime rib, lamb.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tasted in 2020. Aromas of currant, oak, graphite, smoke and some dried herbal notes. Full bodied, with medium, drying tannins, and bright acidity. Still showing lits of life, with fruit and some tertiary flabours mingling nicely. Oak and smoky hints on the finish. Enjoy with braised beef short ribs.
This blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot wakes the nose with expressive coffee notes, wrapped in suggestions of cassis, plum, blueberry and herbs. The palate is quite complex, dry and medium bodied, with more rich coffee (dare we say it’s good to the last drop?), smoke, cassis and a lifted raspberry character, all leading to a lingering finish. A fine example of the flavour packed wines to be found from Bordeaux’s 2008 vintage. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
