Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From the charming region of Blaye, located in the Mazion village of Bordeau, Chateau Clos Mansio has been producing excellent wine since 1850. Crafted from 70% Merlot and 30% Malbec, the 2015 vintage offers aromas of red plum, grape jam, bay leaf, new leather, cream, toffee and cedar. Full-bodied with pleasant spice note finish, Chateau Clos Mansio is a food friendly wine that will pair well with any red meat. The wine shows flavors of red plum, red currant, sage, leather, baking spice and cedar. Enjoy!
Château Clos Mansio 2015 is a great value 70% Merlot and 30% Malbec red wine blend under $20 from the Côtes De Bordeaux -- Blaye in the Bordeaux wine region. Each varietal al is fermented and aged separately prior to blending . The Merlot is aged in vats, while the Malbec is aged in French oak barrels. Lots of toasty and smoky notes on this full-bodied red wine with ripe dark fruit and even darker chocolate flavours. Pair this one with gourmet burgers and all the fixings. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
