Natalie's Score: 92/100

A full-bodied, smooth red blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Carmenère is fragrant with ripe blueberry, cherry, earthy florals and flinty flavours on the palate. A third of the wine blend was aged in new French oak barrels. Drinking beautifully now. Pair with a Chateaubriand.

Food pairings: lamb, grilled veal chops, pepper steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

85% Merlot, gives soft red berry fruit with a floral note while the 10% Cab Franc adds a licorice and black cherry element. The 5% Carmenere completes the blend to create a full bodied wine that is decadent on the palate and toasty from the new oak.
Extremely moreish to drink. Try with roasted lamb fillets and mushroom risotto. @wrightwineblog
From the Saint-Émilion wine region, Chateau Boutisse 2016 is a Grand Cru Bordeaux blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Carmenère, rich on the nose, full-bodied and elegant on the palate with velvety tannins and vibrant acidity to match a mouthful of juicy black cherry, blueberry, fresh mushroom, violet and flinty flavours on the palate. Enjoy with filet mignon. - Community Wine Reviews
