Superb craftsmanship in this benchmark Niagara Riesling. You simply won't find better than this. Incredible depth and concentration of flavour yet ephemerally light in alcohol. The best of all worlds: pure hedonism without the headache. Pair with happiness.

Riesling food pairings: roast chicken, spicy pasta dishes, shrimp tempura, grilled salmon with lemon sauce, duck liver pate.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Charles Baker's 2012 Riesling from their Picone Vineryard, shows intense notes of petrol, flinty minerality, stone fruit, bees wax, and floral blossoms. Crisp acidity with great mineral salinity, this is a fine Riesling to enjoy with spicy Asian dishes or rich German cuisine. A fine example of the world-class Riesling that Ontario is producing from skilled winemakers such as Charles Baker. Tasted August 2015 + February 2016. 93+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A light-boded white wine that is pure Niagara in the bottle. Mouthwatering acidity, Niagara tree fruit and stone fruits, stony minerality, Niagara Spring blossoms , honey, and the typical petrol we associate with the Riesling varietal. A long oxidized apple finish. This Riesling makes me wonder "why don't I drink more Ontario Riesling?" Enjoy on it's own or with just about anything you choose. Serve well chilled.
Tasted: August 2015
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont VQA Riesling with an inviting nose of peach, lemon and wet stone. The palate gives bright peach, lemon, minerality and touch of honey. Crisp, mouth-watering acidity and a long lemony finish. Taste this and see what Ontario Riesling is all about!
This gorgeous Niagara Riesling is made from grapes that grow on vines that are 35 years old. The 2012 vintage is outstanding and once again the Picone Vineyard delivers. There are only 14 grams of residual sugar but more than 10 grams of acidity to balance it. - Community Wine Reviews
