Drinking at peak now -- a gorgeous Brunello. It's rare we get to buy mature Brunello in the store .... Usually we have to age it ourselves as the tannins are enamel-pealing when young. Aromas of truffle, violets, leather and dried fruit. Perfect for truffle-accents risotto and game.

Brunello Di Montalcino food pairings: rich lasagne, meat lover's pizza, spaghetti Bolognese.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Garnet coloured with aromas of strawberry jam, honey and hints of potpourri. On the palate, it is full-bodied with red berry flavours, a touch of fruit cake and subtle floral notes. The tannins are pretty structured, there’s nice acidity and a long finish. Overall an interesting and good wine!

Tasted January 2018
Cerbaia (2007) is a full-bodied Brunello di Montalcino made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown at an altitude of 400 metres. This wine matured in stainless steel for four months and then matured for 32 in Slavonian oak tuns prior to bottling. The wine is deep garnet-red in the glass with an earthy, savour spice nose. Look for blackberry, dark cherry and savoury spice flavours on this Brunello looking for a rare prime rib steak. - Community Wine Reviews
