Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

It's quite delicious as a good Malbec usually is but what sets this apart is its elegance and freshness. It is not heavy or cloying but shows beautiful Malbec black fruit and a minerality that is attractive. Try it with a slow roasted pork shoulder with cumin and coriander. @wrightwineblog
Jisun Hahn CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A medium plus bodied Malbec that is more refined than powerful. Its refinement comes from the many layers of ripe black fruit, tobacco, violets and cloves. This would be a fine choice for any dinner party serving roast lamb or smoked brisket. Enjoy now or cellar for the next 3 to 5 years.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Catena Winery in Mendoza lists the five vineyards that they sourced for this Malbec on their label, four generations of growth. A medium=bodied Malbec, with blueberry, dusty mulberry and oak aromas of leather and vanilla. Medium tannins and extra dry on the palate, this wine can be aged or served with lamb, beef, BBQ or medium-hard cheeses.
From Mendoza, Catena Alta Historic Rows 2016 Malbec is sourced from four different vineyards, the Agrelo, La Consulta, Gualtallary and Lunlunta, and picked at four different times from old vines (historic rows). This is a medium-plus bodied, smooth 100% Malbec with ripe dark fruit, blueberry and mulberry, savoury spice, tobacco leaf and leather flavours on the palate, finishing long and smoky. Very nice. Pair with grilled ribs. Drink now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
