Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

La Casa Maguila Winery, located in Southern Spain near the border of Portugal, delivers passionate wine for the Spanish wine lover. Quiza’s 2012, made from 100% Tinta Toro or commonly know as Tempranillo, reveals aromas of dried blueberry, fig, mustard seed, parmesan cheese, dill and tobacco. Full bodied, with long, dusty dried fruit finish and composed of agreeable tannins, this wine shows a well balanced maturity. The first sip exposes sour cherry, dried blueberry, dried leaves, dust, pastrami, tobacco and cedar. Maybe not your usual Tempranillo from Rioja, but a go-to for a great value wine. Enjoy.
From the Toro wine region, Casa Maguila Quizás 2012 is a robust, toasty Spanish red. Still quite powerful with fine-grained dusty tannins toast. Made from one small block of Tinto de Tor (Tempranillo) planted in 1904. The wine is aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels. Dark cherries, with black currant and blackberry flavours on the palate finishing with some minerality. pair with meaty dishes. Enjoy now and for the next fives year. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
