From Cantine Giorgio Lungarotti, the Lungarotti Rubesco 2021 is an Umbrian red blend that marries freshness with refined complexity. Crafted from Sangiovese, Colorino, and indigenous local varietals, this wine greets the nose with an inviting medley of ripe cherry and bold black fruits. Intertwined with these vibrant fruit notes, subtle hints of pepper, cinnamon, and sweet tobacco spice emerge, all underpinned by an herbaceous, savory nuance that speaks to the character of its terroir. On the palate, its medium-bodied frame shines with zesty liveliness, balanced acidity, and velvety tannins that lend a soft, harmonious structure throughout. Aged for one year in large neutral casks followed by 12 months in bottle, this wine is remarkably food-friendly, making it a perfect companion to rich tomato and roasted Italian vegetables sauces over pasta.

Food pairings: rich tomato and roasted Italian vegetables sauce over penne, beef stuffed tomatoes and peppers.
