Natalie's Score: 91/100

A rich and meaty Chianti Classico produced from mostly Sangiovese (with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) red wine from the Tuscany wine region with vibrant acidity for food. Juicy and lush with ripe cherry, raspberry, plum, sweet spice and anise flavours on the palate. Great now and for the next 10 years. Pair with a meat-lover's pizza.

Chianti Classico food pairings: meat ravioli, beef stew, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This is just a deadly serious Chianti Classico with lots of ripe black cherry and blackberry. There’s wood, leather and fresh and dried herbs that fill the midpalate along with dried flowers and a sanguine note on the finish. It’s deep and brooding. 93 Points.
Canonica A Cerreto 2013 is a smoky, juicy 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet sauvignon and 5% Merlot, full-bodied Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region. A big wine that needs big food like meat stuffed ravioli and a ton of rich tomato sauce. The winery's names translates to small chapel in the oak woodlands, and the estate is nestled in the hills of the Chianti Classico region near the town of Siena in Tuscany. The vineyards are planted at 1250 feet above sea level. An earthy, full-bodied wine with smoky dark red fruit and good, mouth-watering acidity. Enjoy now and for then next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
