Reviews and Ratings

Neil Phillips rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aged seven years, this fine Spanish red blend of Tempranillo and Syrah was drinking quite well.

Nose of earth, pepper, cloves, muted cherry, vanilla and leather.

On the palate, the fruit - predominantly cherry but also dark plums - was still front and centre, but not bright. The pepper from the nose stayed through to the finish. In between, savoury notes of thyme, black olive tapenade. Tannins were chewy but not aggressive, well integrated.

Paired with lamb shoulder and grilled oyster pie.

Tasted May 2015.
Joe Hache Prince Edward Count rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

The color is close to black and the tannin's are VERY evident. The blend (tempranillo & syrah) is deep and rich and there are early notes of cherry and vanilla but needs more time to develop.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
