Reviews and Ratings

Neil Phillips rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Medium-yellow straw colour.

Nose of ripe white fruits: pear, white peach, golden delicious apple, a hint of white pepper and yellow raspberries.

Creamy mouthfeel offering a wine rich with fruit flavours, and balancing acidity.

A delight on its own, also paired wonderfully with roast chicken with herbs de Provence.

Tasted May 2020.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Burrowing Owl produces some of the finest Canadian wines, from Canada's wine Capital, Oliver, BC, in the sunny Okanagan Valley. The 2018 Pinot Gris was hand harvested, pressed, and aged in stainless steel over the fall and winter before bottling the following spring. The result is a crisp and fruity wine with delicous apple, lemon, pear, and nectarine notes that complement grilled fish with fruit compote, seafood, and salads with fruit and goat cheese. Enjoy 2019-2021. Tasted August 2019. 90 points. Available winery direct. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
