Dry and full-bodied with velvety tannins, it flows across the palate with opulent dried fruit character and closes with a long, persistent finish of cocoa and warm spices. Serve it slightly below room temperature or cellar it into the early 2030s. Christian Scrinzi, Director of Oenology at Gruppo Italiano Vini since 2001, crafts this wine using the traditional appassimento technique where grapes are dried for several months before fermentation to concentrate sugars and flavors, continuing a winemaking legacy that began in 1953 when the Bolla family became the first to commercially bottle Amarone, presenting the inaugural vintage to founder Alberto Bolla for his 80th birthday and revolutionizing the category.
