Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Blue Grouse Estate Winery and Vineyard 2017 Quill Q White 2018 is a dry (1.5 residual sugar g/l) smooth and vegan-friendly 35% Schönburger, 26% Pinot Gris, 22% Gewürztraminer and 17% Siegerrebe white wine blend, with a come-hither nose of soft orange blossom, fresh pear and mineral aromas with mandarin, soft stone fruit and lemon meringue flavours silky-smooth on the palate.

Unpretentious and dangerously drinkable. Chill and chill out with friends out on the patio or deck. A crowd-pleaser summertime wine so buy it by the case.

Grapes are sourced from Vancouver Island’s Cowichan Valley and each varietal is fermented separately in tank and then blended to obtain “just the right flavour profile and ensure the wine possesses the desired aromatics and vibrancy." Only the Pinot Gris is treated to malolactic fermentation giving the wine an overall roundness. Excellent on its own or pair with fresh steamed shrimp.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
