Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A beautifully structured and elegant blend of cool- and warm-climate Pinot Noir grapes, fresh on the nose with ripe cherry, red berry, raspberry and spicy aromas; dry, medium-bodied with bright cherry, ripe red berries, sous bois, fine herbs, cinnamon, anise, nutmeg and well-integrated oak spice finishing long on the palate. Graceful and harmonious with velvety tannins and just enough food-friendly acidity. Paired with a rosemary and garlic roast rack of lamb. Tasted September 2021.

Produced from 100% Pinot Noir, 78% of which came from the warm Oliver wine region in the Okanagan Valley, sourced from vines growing in sandy, loam soils. The balance (22%) of grapes were sourced from cool-climate Cowichan Valley G.I., Vancouver Island, from vines growing in sandy, gravel and stony soils. The two Pinot Noirs were fermented and vinified separately prior to the final blend. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in two-year old French oak barrels, followed by 12 months ageing in French and American oak.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
