Vintages Wine Panel: Does the onset of summer make you daydream of refreshing white wines? If you are a fan of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris and have been wanting to expand your wine-tasting repertoire, Picpoul de Pinet may be the answer. This crisp, fresh, light-bodied wine features fresh citrus and apple flavors, and its racy acidity makes it truly ‘magnifique’ for sipping on the patio. My note: A joyously happy wine; bright sunshine on a summer’s day. Redolent of daisies, melon, tangerine zest and lime. Perfect aperitif or as an accompaniment to many dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Citrus, ripe stone fruits coming through, maybe even a little passionfruit/mango? Great wine, good complexity for $12. Ideal with all sorts of fishes or on its own. A great summer sipper. Incredibly pale, almost looks like water. I'm 87 on this. (ottawawinejournal.com)

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
