A smooth, medium-bodied Italian red wine with attractive plum and berry notes. This red wine is a blend of Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes, each of which contribute different flavours and complexity to the wine: Dolcetto d'Alba offers ripe fruit, Barbera d'Alba brings balancing acidity for food and Langhe Nebbiolo imparts tannin for structure. Enjoy with a prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

2013 Vintage: Medium ruby red with a hint of garnet on the rim, the nose shows plum, cherry, dried herbs, leather, and floral notes. Dry, with tart dark berry, leather, herbs, and spice on the medium-full bodied palate. Good value and terrific with Margherita pizza or mushroom risotto. Tasted November 2015. 90 points. Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier reviewed this wine as follows:

A fragrant dry red wine made from a delicious blend of three Piedmont varietals; Dolcetto D’Alba, Barbera d’Alba and Nebbiolo. A perfumey nose of dark cherry, fig, violets, incense and a touch of tobacco. Dark fruits and slight tobacco on the palate. Full-bodied with long elegant finish. Great now and even better with 5 years in the cellar. Excellent with roast beef or pasta in tomato-based sauces.
This Italian red wine from the northern region of Piedmont is ready to drink long before its neighbouring wines, Barolo and Barbaresco. Made form a blend of Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes. Pair with rack of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews
