From the Ribera Del Duero wine region, Basares 2019 Tempranillo is a great value, medium-plus-bodied Spanish red under $16. Look for ripe dark berry, plum, dried red berries, cedar spice and savoury herbs fresh and juicy on the palate. Enjoy with a roast of pork.

Tempranillo food pairings: hard cheese, veal cutlets, grilled steak, roast leg of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Basares 2019, made by Bodegas Teofilo Reyes in Ribera del Duero in Spain, offers a classic Tempranillo with aromas of sour cherry, strawberry sauce, dried leaves, pastrami, cigar box, choclate and vanilla. Full-bodied, with seductive tannins and polite acidity, this wine is perfect for any occasion. Palate: dried blueberry, fig, black pepper, bay leaf, cocoa, cinnamon and cedar. Enjoy!
