Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Bartier Brother wines speak of their terroir, but very much of the land from where the grapes are grown. In the case of Bartier’s Black Sage Bench Cerqueira Vineyard 2019 Chardonnay, vines toil in the Gneiss, limestone, quartz, granite, mineral and chalky soils. Pale gold in the glass, this Chardonnay is fresh, clean, nuanced with dried white florals, chalky mineral and Meyer lemon aromas on the nose; dry, flinty with soft citrus, smoky, stony mineral flavours and lightly creamy on the palate from elevage in stainless steel tank with lees contact for six months, but more silky-smooth with a deft chalky, tannin-like finish. Complex and elegant. Too easy to enjoy chilled on its own *(* but also pour with lightweight seafood dishes.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
