Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Baillie Grohman Estate Winery Terraces Pinot Noir 2017 V.Q.A., is a very smooth and well-balanced single-vineyard, estate-grown PN. On the nose, it is more spicy and savoury with some interplay of dark cherry, berry and dried herb aromas. Dry, medium-bodied, super-smooth and savoury on the mid-palate with dark plum, wild mushroom, meat and cedar spice flavours. A great pairing to veal chops in a wild mushroom sauce or rabbit stroganoff. Tannins are fine-grained and rounded. Very quaffable and easy to love. Tasted August 2019.

The Pinot Noir grapes for the 2017 vintage were hand-harvested, with some batches cold-soaked up to 10 days, fermented for seven, pressed and then spending a further seven days in oak barrel for malolactic fermentation. The finished wine matured in French oak barrel for one year.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
