Another great Chardonnay from the Niagara Peninsula made by Thomas Bachelder. Robust, round and buttery yet balanced with a long finish. Aromas of grreen apple, white pear, and lemon zest. Smooth and weighty on the palate with bright acidity. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Pair with roast chicken or turkey.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely nose of lemon tones floating on oak and some floral tones not usually associated with Chardonnay add interest. Toasty oak leads on the palate and melts to a rich seam of lemon. Rich and well balanced. This will stand up to your savoury holiday meal or a range of festive appetizers. Tasted Nov 22, 2019 www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Jisun Hahn CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This very reliable producer has created another appealing Chardonnay that is both round and creamy on the palate. A lifted nose of ripe yellow apple, white flowers, creamy yogurt and buttery toast. A nice pairing with lobster dumplings or shrimp rice noodle rolls.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A Niagara Chardonnay, medium bodied with stone fruit aromas and on the palate. The citrus and minerality will pair well with fresh fish, poultry, and mild cheeses.
Bachelder 2017 is a dry, smooth and weighty Chardonnay with vibrant acidity for food. Lovely aromas on the nose of sunkissed stone-fruit and lemon pudding on the nose, ripe apricot, peach, soft Meyer's lemon zest and creamy on the palate and a perfect pairing to smoked salmon or buttered lobster rolls. - Community Wine Reviews
