Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

What a happy discovery! This aromatic organic Tempranillo was the perfect match for my charcuterie platter, with lots of cherry, sweet spice, olive and smoky notes in a satiny smooth palate. A wonderful balance for savoury tapas. Mouthwatering acidity and a finish that evolves with a perfumed hint of cloves. A Spanish beauty and excellent value at $15.95. Run to Vintages and grab a few bottles to keep on hand for your holiday gatherings.

Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Organically grown fruit for this amazing value classic Rioja comes from the high altitude estate vineyards near Alfaro in the southern part of the province. Fresh and fruit-forward with abundant aromas and flavours of ripe black cherries, blackberries and plums. Superfine, silky tannins. Beautifully balanced, smooth and supple. Closes in a seductive, lingering smoke-hued finish. Perfect companion to mature cheeses and Spanish style tapas. Tasted November 2017. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com
Made from organically-farmed Tempranillo wine grapes, Artesa (2015) is an expressive Rioja red wine with rich black cherry, ripe plum and savoury spice notes on the palate. The wine was fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruit freshness and then aged six months in American oak. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
