Terrific value for the taste and quality! The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. Aromas of black fruit and toasty oak. Needs steak.

Malbec food pairings: cheese pizza , tagliatelle alla Bolognese, chicken herb-rubbed roast, hamburger.

Reviews and Ratings

Jacqueline Cochrane rated this wine as 89/100
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby with lots of colour extraction.

Fairly intense youthful nose of violet, eucalyptus, black currant, black plum jam, blackberry, mocha, black pepper, cedar, vanilla.

On the palate, intense flavours of blackberry, black currant, black plum, mocha, mint, vanilla with a pepper and medicinal finish. At this stage, it's mostly about the fruit. High alcohol.

For those who like fruit-forward wines that are well made, this will please. A few years in the cellar should add complexity.

Tasted November 2016.
The winery labels this wine Premium Estate. The Malbec grapes for this full-bodied Argentine red wine are sourced from the highest terraces of vineyards in the Andes Mountains. This robust Argentine red wine is made by the d'Aulan family, who used to own Champagne's respected Piper-Heidsieck house. The d'Aulans established Alta Vista in 1998. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
