Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This is a striking offering. It oozes varietal character and despite being 15 years old, has kept its luxurious, silky texture and freshness. Blackberry, black plum skin, and black cherry riff off of fresh and dried tobacco, fresh herbs, black licorice and sarsaparilla root. Could easily last another decade. 93 Points.
Produced by Convento San Francisco who owns the artisanal Aldeasoña project which produces one wine per year made from the traditional Spanish Tempranillo grape. Aldeasoña takes the regional designation of Vino de la Tierra Castilla y León. The 2006 vintage is a powerful and elegant, full-bodied red with polished tannins, ripe, fine dark plum, earthy, mineral and mocha flavours on the palate. Enjoy now with a crown roast of pork and all the trimmings. Convento San Francisco Winery was founded in 1998 and is currently owned by the Pitarch-Rodriguez Family. - Community Wine Reviews
