Château Siaurac 2010, Lalande De Pomerol, Bordeaux A.C., France: I wonder if the alcohol level is correct on the label? It doesn't taste that hot, and this is very high for Bordeaux at 15%. Love the nose of this full-bodied Bordeaux red wine blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes from the Left Bank region of Pomerol. The 2010 vintage was a strong one for Bordeaux. Aromas of fleshy red cherries and violets, followed by darker fruit on the palate. Luscious and supple with some tannic grip that will soften with 2 hours decanting. This will last in the cellar but why wait as it's ready now. Good, satisfying finish. Pair with a rare, juicy steak. Signae Sagrantino di Montefalco 2011, Umbria D.O.C.G., Italy: Full-bodied with dried red berry, dried herb, earthy violets and smoky on the nose and palate, Signae Montefalco is a Sagrantino Di Montefalco from the Umbria wine region. Fragrant and bright with ripe red berries, tea and spicy, savoury flavours on the palate. Barone Ricasoli Castello di Brolio Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2015, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: A medium-bodied and fresh Chianti Classico produced from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from estate vineyards. The vineyards are 250 to 450 metres above sea level and so this Chianti is showing some nice, fresh red plum, raspberry and mocha flavours silky on the palate. Zuccardi Serie A Malbec 2018, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina: Wine grapes for this bright Malbec are sourced from different vineyards across the Valle de Uco and wine grapes were fermented in concrete vats and previous-use 500-litre French oak barrels. Lots of bright red plum, blueberry and spicy flavours on the food-friendly red. Fine tannins give it extra lift and structure. Pair with grilled flat iron steaks. Rutherford Hill Merlot 2015, Napa Valley, California, United States: From the Napa Valley, a smoky and robust mostly Merlot red wine blend with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah added in. Rutherford Hill is a Teralto Family winery that uses the 18th century winemaking technique of blending in a splash of Syrah grapes for body and Cabernet Sauvignon for structure. Winemaker Marisa Taylor aged the wine for 16 months in French oak barrels. The nose is rich with dark plum, smoky and spicy aromas.
