Lori Kilmartin rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The main grape in this blend is 85% Nero di Troia along with 15% Montepulciano. The real name uva di Troia (or "grape" of troia) in the past 20 years has been changed to Nero di Troia. Some say the change was precipitated by the recent popularity of the Sicilian grape Nero d'Avalo.

Very aromatic with scents of black cherry, plum and plenty of evidence of oak with leather and vanilla leading the charge. Tannins could still smooth out a bit, even given the age. Medium acidity with flavours of dark fruit with a long finish.

This would be a perfect pairing with a grilled or braised meat dish.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
