Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

The deep, dark, purple colour hints at the intensity to follow. Massive multifaceted nose show many layers or aromatics. Cassis, black raspberry, and violets interlaced with cedar, leather, savoury herbs, spice, green pepper, dark earth, and briar, back up further by cocoa, freshly brewed dark roast coffee, anise, and graphite. Palate is equally generous as the dark fruits resonate with smoke, spice, and herb. Enormous wine boasting 14.5% ABV with tannins and acidity to match. Over seven years of age, and possibly not even at the halfway point. 92% Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot aged 18 months in new French oak. A stunner, a show-stopper, and an unforgettable wine. Enjoy with red meat, especially roasted or grilled, or rich aged cheeses.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
