Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

"Dead Arm also known as grape canker is a disease of grapes caused by deep seated wood rot of the arms or the trunk of the grapevine". Over many years one or more of the arms of the vine may die. It is caused by the fungus Eutypa Lata that can potentially affect vineyards all over the world especially in Australia and North America. A crowd pleaser and popular favorite, the Dead Arm Shiraz displays the classic McLaren Vale aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, licorice, earth and spice. There is subtle hints of oak on the mid palate, the lingering flavors of dark fruit, mint, mocha and mineral with an intensely dry mouthfeel. This wine is elegant and refined with great complexity and balance. Lingering mint on the finish. Tasted November 2017.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
