Sips in my youth at the dinner table, but the first I purchased was a 1974 Chianti on a trip to Italy

In 1987, ordering a kilo of village red wine at a taverna in a tiny village in the mountains of western Greece. The owner went into his basement and returned with a glass jerry and decanted it. It was cold, spicy and went perfectly with the roast lamb.
