Le Grand Vin

Osoyoos Larose Le Grand Vin 2010

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia BC V.Q.A., Canada
3126 days ago

Debbie scored this wine: 92/100

This was one of the wines featured at the Vintages Goes Northwest walk-around tasting. It is packed with intense flavours of berries, full bodied with fine tannins. This wine could be laid down for a couple more years, but if you want to drink now give it some time to breathe.

Aconcagua Costa

Errazuriz Aconcagua Costa Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Casablanca Valley, Chile

Debbie scored this wine: 91/100

2014 was a good vintage, no rain, perfect conditions for growing Sauvigon Blanc in the Aconcauga Valley of Chile. Errazuriz Aconcauga Costa Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and fresh, perfect for the patio with a cheese plate or as an accompaniment to seafood. This wine is fragrant with great acidity and minerality and plenty of citrus and hint of herbaceous notes on the palette. A lovely wine, styled more like a Sancerre than those from the new world. A must try!

Riserva

Rivera Il Falcone Riserva 2009

Castel Del Monte, Puglia D.O.C., Italy

70% of Nero di Troia and 30% Multipulciano - This is a really interesting wine from Puglia. The grape varietal Nero di Troia is the main indigenous variety of the DOC Castel del Monte. Aged in French oak for 14 months and further in the bottle, this wine has a complex nose with notes of licorice, spices, mint, wood, tobacco and married with ripe red and black fruits. It is elegant, smooth and full bodied with a long finish. Would go great with old cheeses and red meat.

The Pavillion

Boschendal The Pavillion Chenin Blanc Viognier 2011

Western Cape, South Africa

Debbie scored this wine: 90/100

This wine is perfect for a hot summers day on the patio. A bouquet of tropical fruits with a hint of pink grapefruit. The palate follows the nose but with more pronounced citrus notes. It is crisp and lean with balanced acidity. 95% Chenin Blanc 5% Viognier, a great value white from South Africa!

Bourgogne

Champy Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2013

Burgundy A.C., France

Debbie scored this wine: 90/100

If you are looking for an affordable wine to pair with turkey for Thanksgiving, Champy Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2013 is a great choice. While other reds will overpower a turkey dinner a Pinot Noir will compliment it. Champy Bourgogne Pinot Noir is well balanced, it has a vibrant palette of red fruits, good acidity to bring out the juiciness of the turkey, gentle tannins and some minerality.
