Maud reviewed this wine:

With a fresh aromatic nose, this is a crisp, dry wine with plenty of zesty gooseberry and green apple flavours.

Maud reviewed this wine:

2007 Vintage Report Spring and summer conditions saw exemplary Okanagan weather with an excellent start to the season for budburst and flowering. Careful vineyard management with intensive pruning and thinning for smaller crops yielded high quality grape clusters. Harvest began September 6th and lasted through November 1st, for the table wines. The onset of cool fall evenings and warm days produced whites with exceptional crisp freshness and reds with well balanced tannin and sugar maturation. Our 2007 Shiraz is balanced and rich in texture, with a lively blast of blackberry and dark cherry. The wine is highlighted with white pepper notes and a lingering finish. Solid, yet somewhat rustic style for the barbecue. This Shiraz will complement grilled meats perfectly. Try pairing with barbequed beef ribs, lamb chops and honey glazed grilled vegetables.

The bouquet is layered with abundant aroma's of plum pudding, cigar box, blackberries & chocolate. It has an excellent length of flavour, velvety tannins and hints of smoky oak. 71% Shiraz and 29% Cabernet Sauvignon are separately fermented & matured in a combination of new French & American oak before final blending.

Deep ruby in colour, it has a potent nose of concentrated fruit, crammed with blackcurrant, plum and liquorice flavours. Its luscious texture is supported by a firm tannic structure giving the wine restrained elegance for which Taylor’s Ports are famous.

Maud reviewed this wine:

First Estate is an excellent introduction to the Taylor’s style of intensely fruity but elegant and well balanced Ports. It is blended from full bodied young red wines from the Cima Corgo area, then mellowed by several years of ageing in oak vats. Deep ruby in colour, it has a potent nose of concentrated fruit, crammed with blackcurrant, plum and liquorice flavours. Its luscious texture is supported by a firm tannic structure giving the wine restrained elegance for which Taylor’s Ports are famous. Sensational with a gooey chocolate fondant, or a piece of farmhouse cheddar. Taylor’s First Estate Port is a classic reserve blend produced to commemorate the firm’s acquisition in 1744 of its first property in the upper Douro Valley, the Casa dos Alambiques at Lugar das Lages. Memorable Wine

A bottle of Zinfandel we shared on our 10th anniversary 28 years ago at Chateau Lake Louise. The wine was not great but I remember that moment clearly!
