Old vine shiraz (ca 1950) from two small blocks at Maverick's Greenock Rise vineyard produces grapes of great balance and intensity of flavour. Blackberry, cherry and exotic spice characters are supported by a voluptuous palate and finely-textured, velvety tannins that are rich and almost chocolatey in deepness and length. Perfect with beef, lamb, game and strong cheese.

Blackcurrent flavours with a chocolatey velvet finish, great length and incredibly balanced. A big Barossa shiraz, rich in flavour.

The fruit for this wine comes from the estate vineyard situated at Red Hill. These Shiraz plantings were established in 1994. The wine is grown and made to enhance the varietal, regional and site characteristics. Only traditional methods, such as natural ferments, are employed with maturation in French oak. The wine is light and smooth with a medium length.
