Craig Haynes WSET3 scored this wine: 89/100

An enjoyable experience. Crafted from pinot noir, this creation revealed an attractive profile of ripe cherries, weighty blackberries, floral perfume and dark chocolate backed by supple tannins and nice structure. Memorable deep ruby hues. Medium bodied. Pleasing acidity. Sip this pretty pinot noir from southern France all year round. Enjoy. Reviewed on February 10, 2021

Craig Haynes WSET3 scored this wine: 91/100

Pretty aromas stole centre stage in this creation from Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula appellation. Pronounced and sweet tangerine, lychee, floral and peach scents ushered in lux stone fruit and citrusy flavours plus a rich, mouthcoating finish. Drizzle on french vanilla ice cream. Sip this in lieu of dessert. Enjoy. Reviewed on February 16, 2021

Delicious. Crafted with cabernet franc, this icewine showed a striking ruby colour that introduced an enjoyable experience marked by mouthcoating lush strawberry, cassis and subtle savoury spice notes. Serve a Canadian styled Manhattan cocktail by replacing vermouth with this ice wine from Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula appellation. Enjoy. Reviewed on February 16, 2021

Canadian Whisky Barrel

Stave & Steel Wine Canadian Whisky Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

California, United States

Craig Haynes WSET3 scored this wine: 89/100

Pleasing rich dark berries, sweet cedar, chocolate, and vanilla bean scents announced a full body experience marked with supple tannins, light touch acidity and jammy flavours - reminiscent of cinnamon, cocoa, black licorice and warm dark berries. Desert dry and with a weighty aftertaste, the cabernet sauvignon spent some time in barrels that had aged Canadian whisky yet its sweetness level was pleasantly low key. In my glass, this Californian’s aromas stole centre stage. Match this 15.5% abv red with comfort stews and BBQ. Enjoy. Reviewed on February 22, 2021

Villa Blanche

Calmel & Joseph Villa Blanche Chardonnay 2018

Igp Pays D’Oc, Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Craig Haynes WSET3 scored this wine: 89/100

From my glass emerged attractive pineapple, whipped butter and almond scents backed by juicy tropical and stone fruit flavours and some more subtle just cracked nutty notes. Medium bodied, this 100% chardonnay’s palate was creamy and elegantly textured. An appealing creation from France’s broad Pay d’Oc category, match with baked potato chips topped with olive oil and sea salt. Enjoy. Reviewed on February 21, 2021
