Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is a bright and expressive Sauvignon Blanc that really captures that classic Marlborough freshness. It opens with lively aromas of grapefruit, lime, passionfruit and white currant, layered with fresh-cut herbs and a touch of nettle. On the palate it feels clean and vibrant, with citrus, gooseberry and hints of white peach, all carried by crisp acidity and a lightly stony, refreshing finish. It is the kind of wine that feels energetic and easy to enjoy, with flavours that stay lifted and precise from start to finish. Fascinating fact: Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is known worldwide for its intense aromatics and zesty acidity, and Whitehaven is considered a classic example of the region’s signature style, balancing tropical fruit with herbal freshness. Serve it well-chilled.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: fish and chips, lentil and cold bean salad, goat cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A very charming, medium-bodied Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc classic with lemongrass, lime zest, guava, passionfruit and fresh cut grass aromas and flavours crisp, silky and long on the palate that finishes on a stony mineral note. Beautifully balanced with just the right amount of acidity, this SB is more complex than intense and very quaffable chilled on its own. Tasted April 2023 with freshly steamed Saltspring Island mussels, an absolutely delish pairing.
