The Foreign Affair's Enchanted 2017 is a crisp and dry white blend of 45% Riesling and 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Chardonnay made in the "ripasso" style meaning the wine juice is re-passed over the appassimento skins and lees giving the wine added texture and complexity. Intense gooseberry, white florals, honey and grape fruit aromas flavours are rich on the palate wrapped up in a bright and balanced acidity. Chill and pair it with creamy seafood dishes.

Food pairings: sushi, light, mild curries, Asian fusion.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Taste of Ontario 2019 @ Ottawa: Pale lemon, aromatic, crisp and off dry. Made using a modified appassimento method, where Sauvignon Blanc skins were added to the wine for a short time to give additional flavour. Big gooseberry and lemon flavour and aroma; very refreshing!
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay (unoaked)blend. Ripasso style production gives it med bodied texture and generous complexity. Pear, pineapple and white blossom aromas. Gooseberry, honeysuckle and apricot flavours. Zippy acidity. Pleasant finish with some sweetness. Pair with creamy broccoli and cheese soup, and a baguette for a late lunch with friends! Tasted: at A Taste of Ontario April 2019
From the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario, The Foreign Affair Enchanted 2017 is a crisp and dry white blend of 45% Riesling and 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Chardonnay made in the "ripasso" style famous in Veneto. The Sauvignon Blanc wine juice was re-passed over the appassimento skins and lees giving the wine added texture and complexity. The nose is pronounced with gooseberry, jasmine, honey and grape fruit aromas and as flavourful on the palate finishing with a crisp and vibrant acidity. Enjoy all of its freshness now. Chill and pair it with creamy seafood and pasta dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
