A robust, tasty red for quaffing not analyzing. Dark fruit aromas and some oak. This wine is made mostly from the Monastrell (Mourvèdre) grape with some Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. It's aged for about a year in oak. Perfect for movie night.

Food pairings: pizza, pasta.

Reviews and Ratings

Courtney Flood rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Rich and fruity with a light oak that just adds a touch of vanilla. Cherries, raspberries, and you almost wear you can taste the sunlight. Great deal!
Corinna Horton rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A juicy red with a dash of plum & wood. Soft & round, it is among very few peers at this price point. Pairs well with ambition, business talk and long, lost friends. My pick against barbecued meats paired with deep conversations, and friends baring gifts.
Internationally renowned Bordeaux producer Mähler-Besse has also established properties throughout many of the world’s great wine regions. Their Spanish Taja Reserva is a blend of Monastrell (Mourvèdre), Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Merlot. The wine is matured for 12 months in oak barrels and then given a further 24 months’ bottle ageing before release. This customer favourite scores high marks as an approachable and crowd-pleasing wine that can add a real punch to a spontaneous gathering featuring casual fare. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, undated
