Sprucewood Shores Beach Glass Riesling Pinot Grigio is a fresh white blend from Ontario's only beachfront winery on Lake Erie North Shore, named for the smooth, sea-worn pieces of glass you find along those beaches, and dressed in layers like the best Canadian advice. It blends Riesling for a bright top note and Pinot Grigio for its luscious melon side, with aromas of grapefruit, lemon curd, and a cool whisper of sea spray on warm stone. On the palate it is crisp at the start, sunny in the middle, with a soft mineral breeze on the finish, layered like a fresh Canadian spring morning. It tastes like optimism, but with structure, which is something mom always had in abundance. Best enjoyed well chilled at 8 to 10°C in a white wine glass, it is wonderful with a citrus-glazed salmon warm off the grill.

Riesling Pinot Grigio food pairings: lemon herb roasted chicken, grilled lake perch, fresh spring rolls with ginger dipping sauce, light orzo salad with feta, steamed clams in white wine broth.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
