Southbrook Triomphe Cabernet Sauvignon is a structured, expressive red and a superb cool-climate Cabernet. It opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberries, plum, and dark cherry, layered with hints of cedar, graphite, and gentle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, dry, and refined, with firm but polished tannins, lively acidity, and 13.5% alcohol supporting a harmonious finish. Serve it at room temperature to let its fruit purity and savoury complexity unfold beautifully. This bold beauty showcases the elegance of Canadian Cabernet Sauvignon with its signature blackberries and cassis. Decant for one hour to reveal its depth and structure. Although priced at $29.95, it tastes like a $60 wine. It’s unassuming yet surprisingly impressive—the most Canadian of wines. Fascinating fact: Southbrook Vineyards is Canada’s first certified organic and biodynamic winery. This Triomphe Cabernet Sauvignon reflects that commitment, showcasing pristine fruit and true terroir character. Southbrook is a triple pioneer in regenerative organic viticulture, biodynamic farming, and sustainable winery architecture. This wine will evolve gracefully over the next 5–7 years, developing added depth and nuance. You can order it directly from the winery at www.southbrook.com.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: roast beef or braised short ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a rich and flavourful Cabernet Sauvignon from the Niagara Peninsula. Aromas of blackberry, dark currants, graphite, leather, and warm spices. Full bodied with grippy tannins that mellow with some time in the decanter. Medium+ bodied on the palate with ripe dark berry notes and some leather and spice hints on the lengthy finish. Enjoy with any grilled meats.
