I’m loving this wine more than I have in any other vintage so far! It’s juicy, ripe yet balanced. Lovely dark berry fruit and spices. Full-bodied with a long finish.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Tasted 2003 vintage in 2015. Garnet colour. Wonderfully integrated robust red chianti with typical chianti style aromatics including dried figs. Sour cherry, plum, blackberry, cassis, hint of thyme on the palate. Mouthfeel is supple and rich, well balanced, medium acidity, medium fruit and medium tannins. Drink 2015-2017. Enjoy now with North Tuscan antipasti, fresh figs on garlic bruschetta.
There’s a very plush and velvety quality to this wine that is enhanced by aromas of red berry, pipe tobacco, natural rubber and exotic spice. The wine has a ripe, fruit-forward personality and a smooth, velvety finish that is broad, powerful and long lasting. Large percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon back the Sangiovese. Score: 91 Source: Monica Larner, Wine Enthusiast
