Savoury and juicy with herbal and dark spicy notes with macerated red fruit accents. Full-bodied with a soft velvet texture. Love the enticing cherry notes and dark fruits. Supple and slippery good. Terrific price!

A blend of Grenache and Syrah, this wine is medium bodied with a silky texture showcasing lots of dark fruit, tart cherry and earthiness - lingering finish. Great value!

Saint Chinian is one of the oldest and most historic appellations in the Languedoc. It has been famous for its wines since Roman times. Their wines are usually built around Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. They also occasionally grow a grape called Lladoner Pelut ; a disease resistant form of Grenache with fuzzy down on its leaves.
Deep, dark purplish crimson colour.
Aomas of olive, chicory, dried herb, blackberry, cherry candy, and some oaky vanilla spice.
The tannins are firm and need time to resolve themselves. More florality on the nose as it breathed. Very rosey. Violet too. The flavours have some great blackberry, curant, cherry, vanilla, and spicy pepper.
Have this with lamb tacos with refried beans - like the southern French delicacy, cassoulet, but Mexican!

From Saint-Chinian, Le Secret Des Capitelles (2014) is great value under $20. Saint-Chinian is considered to be the oldest winemaking region in the Midi, going back to the Roman. The wine blend is made up of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah. Look for rich cherry, plum fruit, dried green herbs, savoury spice and mocha on the palate that finishes long. - Community Wine Reviews
