Ferzo's Teate Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Abruzzo is a bold, full-bodied red wine offering notes of blackberry, damson plum, cardamom and forest floor. This dry wine displays powerful character and concentrated fruit that will continue to develop over the next five years. Serve it at room temperature with meaty stews as the wine's robust structure complements the braised meat, or pair it with meat-lover's pizza where the wine's ripe fruit stands up to the hearty toppings. Winemaker Giuseppe Ferzo hand-harvests grapes from select vineyards in the hilly Chieti area, producing this wine in small batches to ensure remarkable intensity and layered complexity. The wine's peppery spice and mushroom notes make it ideal for pairing with risotto or slow-cooked dishes. This concentrated, earthy Montepulciano represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2031.

Montepulciano D’Abruzzo food pairings: meaty stews, meat-lover's pizza, tourtière.
