What is significant about Zephaniah? Our family tends the grapes by hand. We are the ones who care for the vines and the grapes through every season. Harvest is accomplished by family and friends. They know the level of care we put into every part of the process. Our wine is hand crafted.

We have a firm practice of canopy management to maximize leaf and fruit exposure to the sun. This improves vine health and fruit quality.

We planted the first phase of our vineyard in 2002. Cabernet Franc is our primary grape, as it is quite well suited to our farm in Loudoun County. We also grow Chardonnay, and we established new plantings of Petit Manseng and Petit Verdot both last year and this spring.

In our tasting room we offer Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, our flagship wine. Our whites, Chardonnay and Chardonel, are almost sold out, but we have a limited number of bottles for sale.

For serious tasters, we offer barrel tastings of two reds: Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It’s interesting to note the influence of the different barrels on the wine.

Tastings at Zephaniah are conducted by our wine making family, providing a unique insight into the hand crafting of our fine wines.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
