Knightswood wines are crafted to allow them express the nature of the vineyards' locale,
giving voice to the elements of sun, wind and
rain unique to each vintage. When I look for inspiration I find it outside my picture window in spring in row after row of vines . I hope you enjoy reading this blog and come back for more again and again. It will be about wine, of course, but also other things important to me I deem worthy of sharing at any given moment: Food, humor, life in Sonoma wine country, enjoyment, philosophy, buried treasure and more all as seen through the eyes of me, Robert Amox, the man behind Morningwood.
While I may be known as the “Duke of Morningwood”
no one gets where they are by themselves, and I can’t
start out without saying one of the most important phrases
in any language: “Thank you.” Thank you to all who have helped me along this journey so many dream about and so few are privileged to take. Thanks to the people who taught me about growing grapes and making wine, sharing their secrets, opinions and most importantly, their mistakes so I would not have to make them.

When launching a winery you typically start out small
with more passion than plans and quickly go into a hole. Morningwood is no exception, but I owe our ongoing success to you, the people who have discovered our exceptional wines and shared them enthusiastically with your family and friends. Most of all, I thank you.

Our wines are crafted to allow them to express
the nature of the vineyards' locale, giving voice
to the elements of sun, wind and rain unique to
each vintage.

This can only be achieved by allowing the wines to evolve with arestrained touch from crush to bottle. From the time each and every bunch of grapes is sorted first in the field
and again in the winery, the wines are provided the con-
ditions and time needed to develop and realize their full potential. They slowly unfurl into works of nature's art, seducing and rewarding the range of human senses and enhancing our lives.Like all living things they evolve as
they mature. Even our white wines are intended to develop gracefully in the bottle and reward the patient collector
with a unique sensory experience.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
