Contact: Jim Traver

Three generations of the Traver family have worked together to produce superior hand-crafted and award winning wines. The winery offers a casual and relaxed atmosphere for guests to learn about wine from the vintner. Wine tasting at our winery is an intimate experience for novice as well as devoted wine drinkers! The tasting counter is located right in the production room where primary fermentation takes place. This first-hand view provides visitors with a unique integrated tasting and learning experience.

Jim Traver was a hobby winemaker for many years before he decided to “go commercial” and open the Traver Home Winery to the public. He learned the craft of winemaking in the family homestead basement until expanding his operation with construction of a production room and tasting room in the garage. Jim was a Naval officer for 20 years and then taught high school math and science for 10 years before beginning his wine business. His wife, Bobbi, is a retired school library media specialist. Their love for educating others during their careers carries on in their love for providing a learning environment at their winery.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable: A Tipsy Search

  Best Books of the Year

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
