Welcome to Sylk Cellars. We are curious how you found us. So after you browse and buy, please drop a comment in contact us about how you came to find Sylk Cellars. It will help us do a better job getting the word out and the site more accessible.

Sylk is all about love, location, and libation. You have to love wine to be in this business. While grape-growing and winemaking appear steeped in romance and glamour, the truth is there’s a lot of dirt, work, and angst that goes into producing a bottle of wine. Mother Nature has the upper hand. For the farmer-winemaker, it’s a love-hate relationship. We love it when everything’s perfect, we hate it when it’s not. Our only real constant is dirt, the essence of location.

The wine of Sylk Cellars is sourced from its own vineyards in the Napa Valley. Our location provides the origin of Sylk’s name. Sylk Cellars vineyard is planted along the Silverado Trail where it meets the southern border of the Stags Leap District and eastern border of the Yountville District. The Oak Knoll District is a stone’s throw away.

Hence our name Sylk — Stags, Yountville, Leap and Knoll.

A libation is a ceremonial pouring. Each bottle of Sylk opened, shared, and enjoyed is a celebration. The wine is the culmination of seven years from planting to release to your table. We hope you will cherish our labor of love as much as we do.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
