For those of you joining us for the first time, we are a small winery dedicated to the excellence that can be grown in the Santa Cruz Mountains and created from this special appellation’s fruit.

And to you long time devotees, we thank you for your continuing support. We think you will find this site informative and that it will enhance your appreciation of our unique wines.

At Storrs, with each new day, we strive to make the best, ever better. This thinking extends not only to each and every barrel, but to those choices along life's path that move us daily from the expected to the exceptional. As any real estate agent will tell you… it’s all about location, and it is no different with vineyards. While some would translate ‘”terroir” to mean only soil – to a winegrower it encompasses much more.

Loosely, translated, terroir refers to the macro-climate – in our case, say coastal; meso-climate which depends upon the vineyard locale (for instance, in the case of Christie Vineyard, the unique warmth of Pleasant Valley with its south-facing slope and its elevation protecting it from coastal fog)Some, however, seem especially well suited – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and beyond that only time will tell. We feel that no other region outside of Burgundy and Chablis consistently produces Chardonnays of such complexity, depth and elegance. And cool climate Zins – ooh la la!

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
