Many know us as the "church winery" because our winery is housed in a century old church that originally sat in Shalersville, Ohio. Now operating as a boutique winery in Harpersfield, Ohio since 2002, South River Vineyard has established itself as a quiet, relaxing, and most unique place to enjoy a fantastic view of the vineyards with quality wine and good company. Located just 50 miles east of Cleveland and a quick 20 minute drive to Geneva-on-the Lake, South River Vineyard is a must see winery when you are visiting the area.

The story behind the idea comes from owner, Gene Sigel. While on his way to Kent, Sigel noticed an abandoned Methodist Episcopal Church as he waited for a stop light to change. Intrigued by the structure, he stopped and asked a neighbor for permission to photograph it. She told him he could do more than that, he could have the building for the trouble of dismantling it. A week later, Sigel was making plans to move the building, piece by piece, to his site in Geneva.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
