Shed Horn Cellars is the vision of Michael Wood, award-winning winemaker for over 25 years. He decided to pursue his own winemaking dream and turn his vision into reality. Being an avid outdoorsman, the idea of the shed horn from the powerful elk came easily to Mike when thinking of the name for his winery. And after visiting Yellowstone National Park several times, Mike decided that the Grand Tetons would be an excellent backdrop to the label. With the assistance of his family and his knowledge of the business, Shed Horn Cellars became a reality. As the magnificent elk sheds its horns each season to grow larger and stronger ones the following year, Shed Horn Cellars creates quality wines and strives to be better each vintage.

2006 Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon
This elegant well-balanced Cabernet Sauvignon is laced with black cherry, boysenberry and a deep raspberry richness. It hints of chocolate and tobacco and finishes with a smooth delicate touch of vanilla oak and soft tannins. Pair this wine with your favorite beef dishes, grilled meats, and hearty pastas.

2006 Lake County Petite
This Petite Sirah is dark purple in color with black cherry and berry aromas. Nice vanilla oak and cedar compliments this well-balanced wine. Delicious on it's own and will accompany any roasted or charred meats, grilled Ahi or Salmon and many spicy dishes.

2008 Lake County Sauvignon Blanc
This Sauvignon Blanc starts with a soft peach-apricot aroma, delicate tropical fruits and citrus compliment the crisp juicy acid, and it finishes with a refreshing hint of lemongrass. It will go excellent with seafood, a nice day, or your favorite light meal.

2007 Lake County Zinfandel
This Zinfandel is a fruit forward wine with flavors of ripe-raspberry, strawberry-tart, soft vanilla and creamy mocha. It is full-bodied and balanced and a lingering finish on your palate. Try this Zinfandel with hearty stews, aged cheeses, or pasta dishes.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
