The 12-acre estate Ravissant Winery sits on has a rich history in Southwestern Illinois. People who visit the winery get a glimpse into the past at how prosperous Midwestern farm families lived during the later part of the 19th century. The grand house was built in the 1860's by Jacob Voellinger and his family.

The masterful combining of Old World winemaking techniques with the best New World grapes grown in the region, has earned the wines of Ravissant acclaim across the U.S. The beautiful wines you enjoy at Ravissant are only matched by the majestic 150 year old estate on which the winery rests.

Matthew and Kristine LaMons purchased the estate in December 2004 with the intention of keeping the integrity of the land and house. The LaMons' currently live in the house, although they have plans on turning it into a restaurant in the future. The property also features a barn built in the 1920's which after a light renovation now hosts private parties of up to 100 people. The LaMons' also built an additional barn which is where all the winemaking takes place and is where the gift shop and tasting bar is located.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
